DAY 1 - ARRIVE AUCKLAND
Welcome to New Zealand! Upon arrival in Auckland you will be met at the airport and transferred to Gulf Harbour Lodge in Whangaparoa, for a two night stay. The Lodge is nestled alongside a canal in the centre of Gulf Harbour Town Centre, the gateway to the renowned Hauraki Gulf. Only 40 minutes drive North from Auckland City, you will appreciate the ambience and stunning views from the balcony of your room.
DAY 2 - GULF HARBOUR (B/D)
Golfers: Enjoy a game of golf this morning on the 18 hole PGA standard golf course of Gulf Harbour Country Club. The Course opened in 1997 and is home to the 2006 NZ Open, European Tour co-sanctioned event. Destined to be the centrepiece of a lifestyle development, Gulf Harbour features significant changes in elevation, superb conditioning and magnificent sea views and has already attracted worldwide interest. This afternoon is free to explore the facilities of the country club at your leisure.
Non-Golfers: While the golfers enjoy a game of golf this morning, you can just relax and take advantage of the indoor heated pool, sauna, spa. A gymnasium, squash and tennis courts are also available for your pleasure and complimentary use at Gulf Harbour Country Club (an easy 5 minute walk from the Lodge) or explore the many facilities of the Gulf Harbour Marina.
This evening you are able to walk over to the Nautilus Restaurant, to enjoy a welcome dinner.
DAY 3 - GULF HARBOUR TO (B) BAY OF ISLANDS
Depart this morning and travel to the Bay
of Islands. On arrival you will join a launch cruise, which will take you across the Bay


DAY 7 - ROTORUA TO CHRISTCHURCH (B/D)
This morning before your departure for Christchurch, explore Te Puia and the Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley, the Maori Arts and Crafts Centre and Thermal Reserve with its boiling mud, silica terraces and famous Pohutu Geyser. You will then be transferred to the airport for your flight to Christchurch.
(Note: Your flight to Christchurch is not included in your tour price and the best fare of the day will be offered when making your reservations)
Arrive Christchurch, where you will be met and taken on a sightseeing tour before arriving at your accommodation, highlighting the main attractions, The Cathedral and Victoria Square, Thomas Edmunds Band Rotunda, River Avon, Town Hall, Floral Clock, Law Courts, historic Provincial Chambers, Christs College, Museum, Botanical Gardens, Arts Centre, Worcester Boulevard and Bridge of Remembrance. Dinner this evening will be at your hotel. Your accommodation is at the Heritage Christchurch Hotel for the next two nights.

DAY 8 - CHRISTCHURCH (B)
Golfers: This morning you will be transferred to the Russley Golf Club Christchurch for today's round of golf. Russley is a parklands course lined with pines, oaks and many other beautiful trees. Bird life includes ducks, Canadian geese and swifts. On the water holes at number 6 and 7 you
will find the water lovely and challenging. The secret to a great score at Russley is to drive straight and true. Return to the Heritage Christchurch for a free afternoon to relax or explore the city shops.
Non Golfers: Today is free to relax and enjoy this beautiful city. Take a ride on the Tourist Tram for a circuit of the city or an Akaroa Day Tour.
DAY 9 - CHRISTCHURCH TO QUEENSTOWN (B)
Leave Christchurch this morning and travel across the rich Canterbury Plains into the foothills of the MacKenzie Country. At Lake Tekapo view the Church of the Good Shepherd and Collie Dog statue before continuing on through Omarama. Traverse the Lindis Pass and travel alongside the gold bearing Clutha River, through the rugged Kawarau Gorge and into Queenstown. Your accommodation in Queenstown is at the Heritage Queenstown for your next four nights.
DAY 10 - QUEENSTOWN (B/D)
Golfers: This morning you will be transferred to the Kelvin Heights Golf Club for today's round of golf, one of New Zealand's best golfing experiences with great views from a gently rolling peninsular surrounded by Lake Wakatipu.
Non-golfers: Late this morning you will be collected from the Heritage Queenstown for a drive through the vines at either Chard Farm or Peregrine Wines, to see how the professionals grow pinot noir grapes before tasting. Then its a short trip to Gibson Valley Wines for a tour of New Zealands largest wine cave (with tasting), Carrick Winery for lunch. Return to Queenstown, where you will be dropped off at the Wharf to join the rest of your group for your evening dinner cruise.
This evening you will be transferred to Steamer wharf. Here you will board the TSS Earnslaw, for a 90 minute steamship cruise to Walter Peak Sheep Station, dine at the Colonel's Homestead with a large variety of food in the magnificent buffet.
DAY 11 - QUEENSTOWN (B)
A free day today, to enjoy the many exciting activities available in this alpine resort. We recommend either the Kawarau or Shotover Jet Boat Rides, the Full Day Milford Sound Tour or the half day Safari of the Scenes tour visiting many of the scenic locations from the famous Lord of the Rings films.

and world acclaimed fishing grounds to Cape Brett and the famous "Hole in the Rock". Upon your return you check into your hotel, the Paihia Beach Resort for the next 2 nights.
DAY 4 - BAY OF ISLANDS (B)
Golfers: This morning golf will be played at the scenic Waitangi Golf Club. Waitangi boasts a magnificent setting giving the most breathtaking marine and Bay of Islands views one could imagine. Playing golf at Waitangi is a relaxed affair that goes hand in hand with the tranquil surroundings and stunning views.
Non-Golfers: While the golfers play at the scenic Waitangi Golf Club, you will be taken on a guided visit to Waitangi. The Waitangi National Trust Estate presents a rare opportunity to experience the place where, in 1840, both Maori and the British Crown signed New Zealand's famous Treaty of Waitangi. At the Waitangi National Trust Estate you will see the magnificent grounds, the fully carved Maori Meeting House, Te Whare Runanga, and one of the world's largest ceremonial war canoes - Ngatokimatawhaorua.
The afternoon is free for optional activities:
- You could take a short ferry ride across the water from Paihia to the charming, elegant township of Russell. Here you can visit historic buildings or enjoy the colonial architecture, cafes, restaurants and craft galleries.

- Swim with the dolphins
DAY 5 - BAY OF ISLANDS TO ROTORUA (B)
Drive South through the city of Whangarei to Warkworth passing the satellite tracking station, Auckland and its majestic harbour
soon comes into view. A brief city tour will highlight two harbours, the Domain, the central city area, the Waterfront Drive with its numerous yacht marinas and nearby residential suburbs. Here we stop for a lunch break and then continue south to Hamilton via the Bombay Hills and lush Waikato pastureland. Cross the Mamaku Ranges to reach Rotorua. Your accommodation for the next two nights is at the Park Heritage Rotorua.
DAY 6 - ROTORUA OR TAUPO (B/D)
This morning a sightseeing tour will encompass the cultural and scenic highlights of the area. Visit the Agrodome to see a display featuring New Zealand's various sheep breeds and a sheep shearing demonstration.
Golfers: After your Agrodome visit, skirt some of the worlds largest pine forest to Wairakei where natural steam is harnessed to generate electricity, view Huka Falls and pause at Lake Taupo, the largest lake in New Zealand. An afternoon tee off at the Wairakei International Golf Course. This course is set in the heart of the scenic Wairakei Tourist Park. This makes a round at the course a rare and
challenging experience. It is ranked as one of the top 20 golf courses in the world. The air is crisp, clear and natural bird life abounds.
Non-Golfers: You will be taken to see pools of brown and rainbow trout at Rainbow Springs Park and even native birds including the Kiwi. Then it's next door to the spectacular Skyline Gondola, offering superb views over city, lake and mountains and for a little excitement, try a luge ride (or two) with our compliments. Return to your accommodation and enjoy some free time in town at your leisure, before the golfers return to Rotorua.
This evening you will be transferred to a local Marae, where you will be treated to a concert featuring Maori songs, chants and the stirring haka, followed by a Maori hangi (meal) at the Marae which will include a selection of traditionally prepared meats and vegetables plus more conventional dishes.


Golfers: This morning you will be transferred to Millbrook Resort and Country Club. Set amidst a spectacular alpine amphitheatre, Challenging for lower handicap golfers, the Millbrook Resort course is one of the most impressive international golf arenas in the world.
Non-Golfers: Time to relax at your hotel this morning or explore the many shopping experiences Queenstown has to offer. You may like to take an Arrowtown Bus Tour, or alternatively your Coach Captain, will happily advise on the many other sightseeing activities available.
This evening dinner will be at the top of the Skyline Gondola at the Skyline Restaurant, where both the dining and the views are unsurpassed.
DAY 13 - DEPART QUEENSTOWN (B)
This morning is free so you can do some last minute shopping, or relax and to say goodbye to your tour companions. You will be transferred to Queenstown Airport in time for your onward journey. |

EQUIPMENT
A golf cart is supplied where available however you will need to take you own golfing equipment or hire this locally. Note the regulations on having clean equipment for biosecurity when entering New Zealand. Most courses require soft spikes and may not let players use any metals spike shoes on their courses. If you taking your own equipment most airlines have a set charge for golf clubs, make sure you check with the relevant airline for details. |
