No ordinary holiday, instead a superb self drive itinerary indulging in some of New Zealand's most exclusive golf courses and equally diverse and scenic regions throughout the North Island.

DAY 1 - ARRIVE AUCKLAND

Arrive Auckland and collect your Budget Rental Car. Head towards New Zealand's largest city surrounded by two natural harbours. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to enjoy this great city and waterfront. Overnight accommodation (Superior) Rydges Hotel or (Deluxe) Aachen House.

DAY 2 - AUCKLAND

A great day out at Formosa Golf Course only a 45 minute drive from downtown Auckland. From its cliff top fairways the course has views across the harbour to Waiheke Island, Rangitoto Island and the distant Coromandel Peninsula and is currently listed as one of "The Finest Golf Clubs in the World". Tonight take a ride to the top of the Sky Tower offering 360 degree views across the city and harbour and enjoy a great dinner at the Observatory Restaurant. Overnight accommodation (Superior) Rydges Hotel or (Deluxe) Aachen House.

DAY 3 - AUCKLAND TO BAY OF ISLANDS

Travel north across the Auckland harbour bridge through the sprawling northern suburbs of Auckland travelling onto the Bay of Islands. This historic area is of significance to the foundation of modern day New Zealand. This afternoon join Fullers for an afternoon scenic cruise, exploring the bay and taking in the famous Cape Brett and "Hole in the Rock". Overnight accommodation (Superior) Kingsgate Autolodge or (Deluxe) Copthorne Bay of Islands Resort.

DAY 4 - KAURI CLIFFS GOLF DAY

One of the highlights of your holiday will be playing this spectacular sea side course considered by many to be the absolute best available in New Zealand and only 40 minutes north of Paihia. To make the best possible golf outing, spend some time at the first-class driving range and putting green before you head out. Once you are playing however don't be surprised if you forget to keep score as just being there is an exceptional experience in itself. Tonight spend a fun and relaxing evening cruising the calm Waitangi River up to spectacular Haruru Falls, enjoying a great BBQ style meal onboard with full bar available. Overnight accommodation (Superior) Kingsgate Autolodge or (Deluxe) Copthorne Bay of Islands Resort.

DAY 5 - BAY OF ISLANDS TO COROMANDEL PENINSULA

An early start this morning travelling south toward Auckland. Stop at Gulf Harbour Country Club and Golf Resort on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula for a round of 18 with the cliff edge ocean views on the back nine, well worth the experience. Continue on through Auckland City and over the Bombay Hills, heading for Whangamata in the Coromandel Peninsula. Overnight accommodation (Superior) Breakers Motel or (Deluxe) Mercure Grand Puka Park Resort.

DAY 6 - LAKES RESORT COROMANDEL

This morning tee off at the newly opened Lakes Resort Pauanui. Wetlands, native bush (including the exotic "cabbage trees" rarely seen on a New Zealand golf course) and nicely positioned white-sand bunkers combine to create a layout that is truly unique in New Zealand. This afternoon take a drive up the coast to Hot Water Beach where you can dig a hole in the sand for thermal heated water to rise to the surface whilst the cool ocean waves crash up the shoreline. Tonight be taken to an exclusive private nature reserve owned by Kiwi Dundee and learn about this beautiful region of New Zealand. Following your BBQ dinner you will be taken into the native forest for a walk amongst the glow worms before being returned to your accommodation. Overnight accommodation (Superior) Breakers Motel or (Deluxe) Mercure Grand Puka Park Resort.

DAY 7 - COROMANDEL PENINSULA TO ROTORUA/WAIRAKEI

Take your time this morning travelling over to Tauranga and the "Mount" and onward to Rotorua. Rotorua is the spiritual home to the Maori and the centre of New Zealand's most active geothermal areas; geysers, bubbling mud pools and steaming pathways and gardens make this a truly unique destination. This afternoon we have included an "Easyriders Escapade Adventure Pass" which gives you a choice of adventure activity at the Agrodome Adventure Park (Zorb, Swoop Bungy or Agrojet), entry to Paradise Valley Springs and Lion Park, Skyline Gondola ride with 5 fun Luge rides and to finish off entry to the rejuvenating thermal waters at the Polynesian Spa. Overnight accommodation (Superior) Sudima Hotel Lake Rotorua or (Deluxe) Bayview Wairakei Resort (near Taupo).

DAY 8 - WAIRAKEI RESORT TAUPO

Just a short drive to Wairakei Golf Resort at Lake Taupo, New Zealand's original golf resort built in 1970. Recent upgrades to the course have maintained its consistent status of one of New Zealand's finest places to play. This afternoon take in the many activities and sights of the largest lake in New Zealand. Overnight accommodation (Superior) Sudima Hotel Lake Rotorua or (Deluxe) Bayview Wairakei Resort (near Taupo).

DAY 9 - ROTORUA/WAIRAKEI TO NAPIER

Travel across the central plateau to the Hawkes Bay region and Napier, claimed to be the world's Art Deco Capital. Take a drive along Marine Parade and the foreshore area looking out over the South Pacific Ocean. This afternoon enjoy a one hour guided tour by vintage Buick including the major Art Deco highlights including a visit to Hawke's Bay Club, National Tobacco Company Building and an Art Deco home. Overnight accommodation (Superior) Deco City Motor Lodge or (Deluxe) Scenic Circle Te Pania Hotel.

DAY 10 - CAPE KIDNAPPERS

A spectacular round today on a new course which is quickly being recognised as one of the best (if not the best in NZ and the World). Like Kauri Cliffs, Cape Kidnappers plays above the ocean, atop dramatic cliffs. This is one of the most challenging courses in New Zealand, regardless of which tee you play from! The remainder of the day is at leisure, why not sample the renowned Chardonnay or Bourdeaux-style red. Overnight accommodation is (Superior) Deco City Motor Lodge or (Deluxe) Scenic Circle Te Pania Hotel.

DAY 11 - NAPIER TO WELLINGTON

As you travel south today orchards and vineyards give way to lush farmlands as you pass through Hastings, Dannevirke and Woodville for an early afternoon arrival into the capital city of Wellington. Take a ride on the famous cable car and visit Te Papa, the Museum of New Zealand. Wellington is well known for its cafe culture and reputed to have the best coffee in New Zealand along with many boutique food stores. Overnight accommodation is (Superior) West Plaza Hotel or (Deluxe) Duxton Hotel.

DAY 12 - WELLINGTON & PARAPARUMU

This morning take a scenic drive along the Kapiti Coast, a very pleasant fifty-minute drive north of the capital city. Paraparaumu Beach enjoys a long held reputation as the premier links course in New Zealand. Paraparaumu Beach has hosted the New Zealand Open Championship on twelve occasions as well as numerous prestigious professional and amateur tournaments. Enjoy the return journey into Wellington, stopping to enjoy the views. Overnight accommodation is (Superior) West Plaza Hotel or (Deluxe) Duxton Hotel.
