The Scottish city of Dunedin, affectionately known as the "Edinburgh of the South" offers an abundance of experiences, from some of New Zealand's most spectacular coastal wildlife to the Cadbury Factory and the Speight's Brewery, there is something for everyone.
DAY 1 - ARRIVE DUNEDIN
Arrive Dunedin and collect your Budget rental car. This afternoon all aboard the Taieri Gorge Railway for a 4-hour journey through the rugged Taieri River Gorge, steeped in history of the original settlers and goldminers who followed this route to the inland goldfields. Travel in restored Heritage carriages with commentary and stops along the way for photographs, see spectacular viaducts and bridges and tunnels in a rugged landscape.
DAY 2 - ST CLAIR GOLF DAY
Tee off this morning at St Clair Golf Club, created in 1905 offering an excellent round of 18, with views of the ocean and Dunedin City. The remainder of your day is free to explore the city.

This morning is at leisure before joining Monarch Wildlife Cruises this afternoon for a half-day tour taking in the best of the Otago. Peninsula. Cruise the length of the beautiful Otago Harbour; enjoy the wildlife cruise of Taiaroa Head and a scenic Otago Peninsula coach tour and the added bonus of a guided tour of Penguin Place - the yellow-eyed Penguin reserve.
DAY 4 - DEPART DUNEDIN
A last chance to get another round of golf in this morning at St Clair Golf Club before returning your rental vehicle to Budget for your onward journey.
